Finished paintings
They are finished, but there will be more. I really like them for their micro-utopian quality, little worlds to get lost in. Painting is a new thing for me, it involves a slower pace than drawing and a greater awareness of balance of colour.

Painting
For class we have to do some paintings, a series of 5 or so images that relate to each other, I am thinking of doing something a series of paintings in this style:
Mountain Trip
This past week I have been up the mountains, these are a few things that I did while I was up there.
I made a life plan with my boyfriend of all the places we want to visit
Went for lots of bush-walks, and attempted to draw all the interesting things I found, I got this far:
I also did some drawings:

slow lick of fire
Here are some recent drawings from my Moleskines, the first two were done while being read russian poetry over Pims and Dirty Three at Barkly street, they express an interest in Whale bones, mysticism and space detritus.
These next two drawings were done in the library at uni while looking at boys.
I am particularly happy with this one, click to enlarge.

Silk cut stickers
These are the first of some silk cut and dry point pressed stickers I am making for my printing subject at university. I am pretty chuffed with how they turned out.

Etching plates
These are two etching plates of copper I have been scratching up today, to be made into hand printed stickers for an art project I am doing for Uni. In my project I am putting stickers on peoples ipods to make them less aware of the consumer nature of the product and hopefully more aware of the experience of listening to music. If you would like me to interview you about your ipod and give you some stickers to cover up that awful apple symbol, just email me. aaron.a.billings@gmail.com.

World I'd like to wake up to.
Drawing of the 'world I'd like to wake up to for the ABC arts pool, which can be seen here: http://pool.abc.net.au/media/world-id-wake
Clearly the world I want to be in is full of whales and twigs and glowing prisms.

Collab.
One of the best people I have met at Monash, is Hayden Daniel who runs the blog http://artofhtd.blogspot.com/ which showcases his little cartoon drawings and paste ups which have a boyish energy to them as well as being just generally cool. Today during my 5 hour break between classes I did some collaborative drawings in the library with him. This is one of them:
I did the head.
Under the Milky-Smooth Way
Here are some recent works which are as yet unfinished. In other news I have started a Visual Arts degree at Monash, it's pretty cool, there is great common room with a microwave and I have met some really great people, two in particular.
