Going Down Swinging #31
I have been published in the 31st edition of Going Down Swinging! I am super chuffed to be a part of this fantastic anthology of poetry, prose and art. Above is the cover for the online edition, drawn by my good friend Jess McCausland, who blogs over at Surface Area .
This is the page I illustrated (page 65), right beside a lovely poem by Jodie Lea Martire. The poem and my drawing fit together very nicely I think, the poem possessing a powerful stillness and acute attention to detail.
And finally here is a better look at the illustration. If you are in Mag Nation or Readings then please pick up a copy of this great body of work!

Spiragraphs
My friend Audrey Tan has a spiragraph, I do not. This is largely because I spent all my money on horrible frozen yogurt, from Tutti Frutti, which is the worst and most expensive place to ever open up. If you are in QV please do not buy anything from them, you will be bitterly disappointed.

AA continued
Some more progress on some watered down acrylic paintings. When I paint or use colour in general I have noticed two things which always happen, I always seem to try to balance out a primary coloured palate and I also tend to paint over them at least four times, so don't expect these colours to look like this when finished.

I hope tonight I dream and salty tears drip down my back.
A chase involving one cat.
a secret wedding in a clearing, the moss-ground undulating.
4th dimensional pathos.
lines of Ted Hughs.
lately I have been listening to a lot of and reading lots of sad books about mountains and south american dictatorships. I also sprinkled some pom-poms over some new paintings which are hanging in Edinburgh Castle. Not the real one, the one of Sydney road.

guiding instruments
Smoke signal, protection light from the heart made with thumb and forefinger, the swan of longing.
Signal flag, magic floating streamer coin of luck.
Owl guide, finger search light for tiny bones.
Teepee shell shrines, smoke signals.
